Intermediate Watercolor Supply List

Watercolor Paper: Required: Arches 140 lb. paper in a cold press surface. Buy a block 9 x12” or larger. Large sheets (22 x 30”) of Arches Cold Press can be purchased from me, at about $6.00 each.

Arches paper also comes in a pad; useful for studies. Mixed-media sketchbooks can also be sued for small studies: I recommend the Aquabee Super Deluxe. Sometimes Michaels carries it, it has a burgundy cover.

Watercolor Paints: Buy the best quality you can afford:  New Gamboge, Cadmium Yellow light, or medium, Cad Red light or Cadmium Scarlet, Winsor Red, Rose Madder, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, and Burnt Umber. Optional: Sap Green, Paynes Grey or Neutral Tint. Quinacridone Burnt Orange.

                           A round in size 4, 6, or 8.

One flat, sized ½” or ¾” range.

One large wash brush: 2” or larger.

Optional but helpful: a liner brush.

Paper towels and Kleenex. Required.
