Use less number of colors. Use the intermixing of each hue too.
Mix your colors. Don’t use colors straight from the tube.
Look for nuanced colors; too many saturated, intense colors is too much color.
Always include neutrals. They make the brighter colors sing.
Buy good quality paint.
